AbstractThe Company unnecessarily renewed the services of a consultant for three years paying INR 1.08 crore, even though the consultant had already given its report, which the Company failed to act on, rendering infructuous the entire expenditure of INR 1.44 crore over the four years. Failure to act on the recommendations of the Consultant also resulted in avoidable payment of penalty of INR 50.27 crore.
